FAQs
Question: Is this trimmer suitable for trimming through heavy weeds or scrub?
A: No, the AutoCut® mowing head on the FSA 57 is suitable for trimming grass and light weeds, along lawn edges or in small areas of lawn. If you need to cut thicker, woody material, a brushcutter with a grass cutting blade or brush knife may be more suitable. You can find out more information about the different cutting attachments we have available at www.stihl.ca. Please visit your nearest STIHL Dealer, who will be able to give you expert advice and talk you through our full range of brushcutters and cutting tools.
Question: What type of cutting attachment does the FSA 57 use?
A: The FSA 57 uses an AutoCut® 3-2 mowing head. An optional PolyCutTM 3-2 head is available for the FSA 57 from your nearest STIHL Dealer. This head uses durable STIHL PolyCutTM mowing blades.
Question: How long does the battery last?
A: The AK 10 battery will last up to 25 minutes or mow up to 500 m of lawn edges, depending on the type of grass that is being cut and how the tool is being used.
Question: How long does it take to charge?
A: To fully charge the battery it takes 80 minutes with an AL101 charger or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 55 minutes.
Question: What size of property will it maintain?
A: The FSA 57 is the ideal grass trimmer for small to large city properties.
Question: What battery does it use?
A: The FSA 57 is equipped with an AK 10 battery. However, the AK 20 and AK 30 can be purchased separately.
Question: Are the batteries interchangeable?
A: Yes, all of the tools in the AK System use the same style of battery. There are three different batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the FSA 57, we recommend the smaller capacity AK 10 battery as it is lighter and means the tool is perfectly balanced, but you can use the AK 20 and AK 30 battery for longer runtimes.
