The STIHL WSA 40 is a mobile, battery-powered water tank that that is made for STIHL cut-off machines and lets you make clean wet cuts anywhere—even on sites without a water supply. Ideal for landscaping, civil engineering, and roadwork, it delivers a steady water flow using a robust compressor pump to cool the cutting wheel and reduce dust.

This set includes a 10‑L tank, water hose, pump head, AS 2 battery, and AL 1 charger, so you can start working immediately. With adjustable pressure from 1.5–2.5 bar, automatic shutoff, LED charge indicator, and a soft‑grip handle, the WSA 40 is easy to use and comfortable to transport.

Constant Power

CONSTANT POWER, REGARDLESS OF BATTERY CHARGE STATUS. With other brands of battery tools, the performance usually decreases during work as the battery discharges. This is not the case with STIHL battery power tools with CONSTANT POWER. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your STIHL power tool works with consistently high power.

Regulation of Operating Pressure and Water Flow

PRECISE DOSAGE. The operating pressure can be variably adjusted to achieve a uniform application of fluid which is optimal for the specific task. This can contribute to lower volumes of the fluid (e.g. pesticide) being used.

LED Charge-Level Indicator

FOR GOOD PLANNABILITY. At the push of a button, the LED charge-level indicator will inform you at any time about your battery’s remaining capacity. This allows you to efficiently plan working hours and charge the battery in good time.

What can I use the WSA 40 for?

The WSA 40 is a cut-off machine accessory for the mobile water supply of the cut-off machine. The battery water tank enables the binding of dust particles when cutting mineral building materials and cools the cutting wheel.

What operating time does the WSA 40 achieve with a fully charged AS 2 battery?

It is possible to work with the WSA 40 for up to 30 minutes. A total of up to 12 tank fillings can be applied with one battery charge. The specified working times per battery charge were measured at a pressure setting of 1.5 bar in the energy-saving operating sequence These times may vary depending on the application, pressure setting and water dosage on the cut-off machine.

Does the AS battery included in the set fit other STIHL tools?

Yes, the AS 2 can be used with all other devices of the AS system.

What cut-off machines is the WSA 40 compatible with?

The WSA 40 is compatible with all STIHL cut-off machines thanks to the standard coupling and can be used with any TS or TSA.

Is the WSA 40 compatible with other products, such as the concrete cutter?

The WSA 40 is only compatible with STIHL cut-off machines and cannot be used with the STIHL concrete cutter, as the water flow rate of the battery water container does not meet the minimum requirements of the concrete cutter.

Can the WSA 40 also be used to apply disinfectants, acid-based weed killers (e.g. acetic acids, pelargonic acid, etc.), peroxides, acids, alkalis (e.g. liquid chlorine), solvents, foam, oily liquids (e.g. formwork oil), pesticides, fungicides, insecticides, herbicides or fertilizers'?

The approval of the WSA 40 applies exclusively to water. The battery water container was specially developed for the mobile water supply of the cut-off machine and enables both the binding of dust particles when cutting mineral building materials and the cooling of the cutting wheel.
